I am SO happy to welcome you to the new Regina Caeli Community Forum. We had an email list ages ago and I've wanted to start something back up for a while. This is a place where we can all speak freely, in His Name. A place where we connect with like-minded parents across this great country. A place where we can ask "delicate" questions and offer "delicate" responses. A place where we are not sanctioned. A place where we speak as Catholic Christians, from our own experiences. A place where everyone's viewpoint is accepted. A place where we each have our own watering can, watering our own children. Each looks different, but each gives life.

Introduce yourself! I'm Laura, wife to Dan, mom to Andrew, Maxwell, and Nicholas. I'm sure I'm not the only parent to wish I could go back and homeschool all over again, this time RIGHT.....and then after another 20 years, go back again and do it RIGHT again...But somehow, our boys turned out pretty darn good and incredibly unique. This year marked our final year homeschooling. At the beginning of our homeschool journey, I cobbled together various books and resources to create our own curriculum. Early on, I found Catholic Heritage Curricula and the creation of their grade levels coincided with our oldest son and so I had found our match. High School was more combining my own texts and following each child's lead on where they excelled and wanted to focus. I'm a classical pianist, dancer, knitter, Trad Catholic, and lover of all things Italian. In the 14th century, my father's family migrated from Italy (Lorogna) to Spain (Loroña) and eventually to Mexico...so perhaps that Italian is still in my blood. You'll see that many of the photos I use are from our trip to Tuscany for ICLE's only European symposian a few years ago. It was life-changing in every way. I'm a second generation Angeleno whose musical family was in the 4th grade history books for decades and we raised our sons in Southern California, survived a very quick stint in the Bay Area, then moved to Southeast Kansas five years ago. I have and will continue to pray in thanks to Our Lord for leading us here every day of my life and it will still not be sufficient. I am grateful I still get to travel back for friends, family, and work, every year....and dip my toes in my beloved ocean.
